My Story
Alvaro Luevanos
My love for art began when I was nine years old, and I was given my first pair of comic books, “What if… Wolverine led Alpha Flight #59” and "X-Men #32". Until then, my drawings were simple and cute, but the comics contained art which was like nothing I had ever seen—dynamic, bold, and beautiful. The character designs were more mature than the cartoons I was watching at the time, and it mesmerized me. In that moment, I knew I wanted to create art. I wanted to draw memorable characters, and tell stories as compelling as those in the comics. I drew for the rest of my academic career, until I graduated with a degree in Illustration from California State University of Fullerton, in 2008. Following the economic collapse, I was adrift and worked a slew of different jobs for the next 11 years; however, I had experiences which helped me grow mentally, spiritually, and artistically. I now feel I can return to the goal I set when I was nine; thus, this website was created to showcase and sell my original pen and ink drawings.

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
